ISABEL Pena POTTERY Native AMERICAN Bowl SIGNATURE

We have here another wonderful find in this Handsome Signed Isabel Native American Pottery Bowl.

It stands about 3 inches Tall, has a Diameter measured at its widest center portion of  about 7 inches and has a 4 inch opening at upper edge.

From what we have been able to determine, it appears that Isabel Pena was born in the 1880's and during her lifetime, created a fairly large body of greatly admired and highly respected work.

This beautiful example of her fine craftsmanship bears the 'Isabel' signature on its underside. We have learned from our research that Isabel Pena did not always sign her pieces with her surname, but simply 'Isabel' as is evidenced on this lovely old piece which most likely dates back in time to the early 1900's.

Its flat underside is quite representative of her style as is the monochromatic Black on Black. We love the strong statements made simply by juxtaposing the Glazed finish on the body of the Bowl with a matte finish - to its inverted 'Crown-Shaped' Rim Collar. Together, this exquisite design presents a magnificent tableau.

Other than the always anticipated minor age-related wear and patina to the finish of this early Isabel piece, it is in absolutely lovely Vintage Condition. We have not detected any chips, cracks or repairs. Just give it a gentle cleaning. This is quite a treasure!

In addition, this is an amazing Investment in a beautifully-crafted Isabel Pena Signed Pottery Bowl which is certain to continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by! Without a doubt, it will surely become a cherished heirloom for your future generations.

For additional information on Isabel Pena, click here to visit the Maria Julian Pottery Museum website. We believe from the information displayed on their site, that Isabel Pena's body of work  was of similar period and style as that of Maria Martinez and  may possibly have been one of the talented artists of the time who worked for or with her.

Don't miss out on adding this stunning and rare piece to your Native American pottery collection!
