We are very pleased to be able to offer for
your consideration this limited, signed print by the listed
American satirical artist Charles Bragg.
This is a beautiful, and whimsical
little print by Charles Bragg. Charles Bragg (born 1931) is
an American sculptor, painter, artist and author. He is known
best for his satirical work and unique style. He is known as
America's "Foremost social satire artist."
This print is called "Bacchus
" He is also the Liberator (Eleutherios), whose wine, music
and ecstatic dance frees his followers from self-conscious fear
and care, and subverts the oppressive restraints of the powerful.
This print looks to be a playful homage to this Greek deity,
in a more contemplative moment, also some artistic license is
shown here with the additions of the small horns. This print
is matted and framed. It is numbered 144/150, titled and signed,
all in pencil, along the bottom of the print. The actual printed
image area of this print is approximately 7 inches wide, by
5 inches tall. The matte is a faux fabric pattern. The window
cutout measures measures 8 inches wide, by 6 1/4 inches tall.
The frame is a very nice distressed Silver gilt, it measures
14 3/4 inches wide, by 13 inches tall, by 3/4 inches in depth.
This Frame and print weigh approximately 2.5 pounds.
Condition- The condition of this framed
print is very good, the rear paper seal is still intact, the
frame is in good condition, and the matte and print itself show
no signs of fading, foxing, or stains.
