We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this antique English china plate
This plate is antique English china transferware made by G.L. Ashworth & Bros. of Hanley, Staffordshire, England, in the late 19th century. The pottery was founded in 1784 and became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1973. Ashworth made earthenware and ironstone.
This plate is a 10 7/8 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 1 pound 4 ounces.
The plate has a beautiful transfer pattern of flowers in a bowl repeated three times on the top of the plate, there are also an inner and outer rings patterns with a hand painted brown glaze edge trimming. Condition- The plate is in very good condition, there are no flea bites, chips or cracks. There is, however, a good deal of crazing in the clear overglaze. The crazing occurs on both the top and bottom surfaces of this plate. Even with the crazing this is still a very beautiful example of the English pottery of Staffordshire.
