This bottle came back to the shop with the bosses, after their trip to Miami, They were there to shoot and episode of the Travel Channel show Baggage Battles.
This is bottle is definitely an Antique, judging by it's characteristics, the time of manufacture can be placed at or around the early 1800s. The top of the bottle is a string type, there are visible seam marks that indicate the use of the two part shoulder, and throat mold. The bottom half of the bottle indicates the use of a dip mold. The exterior surface is a semi gloss, with many straw or annealing lines. When you back light this bottle you can see the deep dark brown green color of the glass. Back lighting also reveals many small air bubbles (seeds) and a great many impurities in the glass, none so large as to be considered stones.
The bottle stands 9 7/8 inches tall, approximately 2 3/4 inches at the shoulder and 2 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. This bottle weighs approximately 1 pound 2 ounces.
This antique bottle is a nice collectable, it is also a very clear example of the bottle manufacturing techniques of the times. It will make a very nice addition to any bottle collection.
