1953 Bullfighting Photograph Photos & Negatives Kodacolor Kodak Matadors Mexico Mendez Santa Cruz Procuna

Amazing 1953 Bullfighting Photographs and Negatives of Famous Matadors Mendez, Santa Cruz and Procuna!

Welcome! Featured today for your consideration is a lot of 1953 Photographs and Negatives of Bullfighting scenes with famous Matadors Joselito Mendez, Rafael Santa Cruz, and Luis Procuna.

Included in this lot are 12 black and white photographs, 5 of Luis Procuna, 5 of Joselito Mendez and 2 of Rafael Santa Cruz. There are 19 Kodacolor Kodak photographs, 13 of Joselito Mendez, 5 of Rafael Santa Cruz, and 1 is unmarked. The photos come in two large envelopes.

There are 37 negatives in all. There are 23 kodacolor negatives and 14 black and white. The negatives are in three envelopes as shown in pictures. The negatives are of Bullfights that took place in Mexico during October 1953.

The owner was an aficionado of bullfighting and attended many fights. We have more of his bullfighting memorabilia in our store, specifically tickets and programs of his 1953 trip which corresponds with the photographs presented here.

The owner wrote the name of the matador and the date of the bullfight on the photos as shown in pictures. The dates are Oct. 18 and 31st 1953. The kodacolor prints also have a stamp indicating the type of film and when it was developed.

The Kodacolor Photos measure 3-7/8 inches in height, 3-7/8 inches in width. The black and white photos measures 4-3/8 inches in height and 4-3/8 inches in width.

The negatives have some surface ware due to age and use. The envelopes are browning with small tares and creases due to age. There are some slight bending to some of the corners to the black and white photos, even less with the kodacolor prints. One black and white print has a tare to the surface of the photograph, the owner taped the back, shown in picture 10. We do not know if every print in this lot has a corresponding negative.

This interesting find will make the perfect addition to any Kodak or Bullfighting Memorabilia Collection. Will look amazing out on display. Don't miss out on this rare piece of history. Check out our store for more great Bullfighting Memorabilia. Enjoy!
